Review of the Amounts of Subsidy of refined sugar from the European Union

Refined Sugar

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced today that it has initiated a review respecting the amounts of subsidy of refined sugar, refined from sugar cane or sugar beets, in granulated, liquid and powdered form, originating in or exported from the European Union. The review is part of the CBSA enforcement of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal's order of November 3, 2000, which re-affirmed, with amendment the finding of November 6, 1995. It is anticipated that this review will be concluded on or about November 30, 2004.
