Some customs locations require CAED participants to provide a paper copy of the B13A. This is because customs officers do not have online access to all CAED data. The CAED report number (made up of the CAED form ID and authorization number) can constitute proof of report, since an officer can use it to verify time frames in the system. Transmitting the log is therefore not needed. After MOUs for carrier reporting are finalized, the CAED form ID and authorization number will have to be noted on the carrier's manifest to provide proof of report before the goods can be loaded.
